The weather is starting to change and we are preparing ourselves for the cold with some deliciously fun and heartwarming recipes. In the months to come you will discover new ways of preparing soups and stews for entertaining or to share with your family and friends.

I’d like to highlight some very special events which are taking place in the next few days in Wayzata, Minnetonka and downtown Minneapolis: September 11, 6-9 p.m., the Women Entrepreneurs of Minnesota is hosting a wine tasting with heavy gourmet appetizers, live music, networking and a Hot Button Legal discussion led by three top Minneapolis lawyers; September 18th, 6-9, Delicious Wishes is a Make-A-Wish Foundation is a very special event to Sample, Sip, and Savor fine cuisine and wine; Sept 26th, Noon, Amalia demonstrates four recipes at Macy’s downtown Minneapolis during Hispanic Heritage Month. Recipe of the Month
PERICO ANDINO
Meaning “Andean Parrot” this delicious and easy to make dish is a traditional egg scramble from Venezuela. It is perfect for breakfast, as a snack, or anytime.
Serves 4-6
1 tbsp. Canola oil
1 cup chorizo criollo, small dice (or substitute for Spanish chorizo)
½ cup yellow onion, small dice
1/3 cup green bell pepper, small dice
1/3 cup red bell pepper, small dice
½ cup Roma tomatoes, small dice
6 large eggs, beaten, seasoned
Kosher salt
Heat a medium skillet over medium heat; add the oil and the chorizo and sauté for about 2-3 minutes. Add the onions and bell peppers and sauté 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes and sauté 2 minutes. Add the seasoned eggs and cook until the eggs are scrambled and smooth, about 3-4 minutes.
