I anticipated my adventure in Japan so much because I am fond of many things Japanese, the food, the people, the work ethic, electronics, Hello Kitty, and others. To boot, my Japanese friends in the Twin Cities awoke my curiosity even more about this amazing culture by sharing great information and tips prior to my trip.
I was all eyes, ears and nose as I usually am in other countries. Tokyo was awesome (downtown Tokyo picture on left). Sushi was plentiful […]
BALTIC NEW YEAR: Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and Russia
Travel and food experiences mark you for life. I mean that in a positive way. Travel opens your eyes to the beauty of life and food nourishes your soul and spirit. It is for this reason that my true passions in life, aside from my family, revolve around constant exploration and renewal of what goes on beyond my immediate world.
On a recent trip, I visited Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and St. Petersburg, Russia. These […]
Recently I had the fortune of traveling to a tropical paradise called Labadee. Contrary to what you hear in the news, this is a calm and safe place in Haiti. The weather was perfect, turquoise waters, beautiful white sand beaches, and warm welcoming people. If I had to describe paradise, this place would probably be at the top of my list. This is in essence a picture perfect place.
On my quest for fresh coconut water, I asked a local where I could purchase a […]
Sicily: Charming and Beautiful
Italy is one of my favorite destinations -the whole country is beautifully delicious -from North to South and from East to West. No matter where you are, the scenery is breathtaking with old fashioned country charm, awesome mountain and ocean views, and contrasting art everywhere. Sicily is a small island south of the Italian boot located on the Mediterranean and one of its most famous sites is Mount Etna.
A walk through the town’s narrow streets will take you on a path reminiscent of a […]
Hola Friends and New and Current Subscribers:
This summer I added another intriguing place to my travel list. The floating city is built over logs on 117 small islands. It is mind boggling that huge buildings and structures have withstood the pass of time in what seems such a weak and unstable foundation! July is one of the hottest months with very high temperatures and humidity that tarnishes jewelry in hours. The views are amazing as are the gondolas, canals, churches, […]
UAE: Old World Charm with a Western Twist
Not long ago, I had the fortune to travel to a part of the world that is probably off the radar for most people. Coming from the Western World I had some preconceptions about what I was about to experience. I encountered a down-to-earth and friendly culture, stunning scenery and fantastic cuisine! The UAE is now one of my top travel destinations after China, Hong Kong and Iceland. Dubai […]

Ohhhhhh! New England is a beautiful area to visit during the summer months. The weather is right, the ocean breeze is cool, the flowers are striking, seafood is at its freshest, and the area has a Northern European look and feel.
